Glens Falls, NY Names New Castle Hotels As Managers |
SHELTON, CT � September 11, 2001 � New Castle
Hotels has been named the new managers of the Queensbury Hotel, a 75-year-old
landmark property in Glens Falls, NY, announced Gerald P. Chase, president,
chief operating officer of the Shelton, CT-based hotel ownership and management
company.
Built in the 1920s by a group of Glens Falls� top business leaders, the 125-room Queensbury Hotel opened its doors in 1926. The hotel has hosted the famed and the infamous, celebrities of every kind, from actors, politicians and statesmen, to rock stars, athletes and prizefighters. It occupies a singular position in the region as the market�s only full-service, up-scale hotel. �We look forward to helping this treasured landmark continue to flourish,� says Chase. �The preservation and management of historic properties is a forte for us, and we are eager to put to use the experience we�ve earned at similar landmark properties like the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax, Nova Scotia.� The Queensbury Hotel offers 13,177 square feet of meeting space in 14 meeting rooms, including a 2,508-square-foot ballroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the Crock & Boulle Restaurant. The hotel features an indoor pool with Jacuzzi, fitness room, massage and facial therapies, a guest lounge, private sun deck, barbershop and beauty salon, and seasonal outdoor café.
