Awards To Be Presented at CLIA's Annual
Gala Awards
Dinner in Long Beach-September 9, 2001
Sacramento - August 29, 2001- California Lodging Industry Association
(CLIA) Chairman of the Board, Carl Doughty has announced the recipients
of CLIA's annual awards and scholarship. The awards will be presented
at the association's Annual Gala Awards Dinner to be held at the Hyatt
Regency-Long Beach on September 9, 2001, in conjunction with the Western
Lodging Show held at the Long Beach Convention Center, September 8-10,
2001.
| Excellence in Lodging Management
and Operations Award: Holiday Inn - Costa Mesa, operated by Hanford
Hotels, in recognition of excellence in construction and refurbishment
of a lodging property.
Excellence in Lodging and Hospitality: Ms. Darcy Wilson,

Chairman's Award: Mr.Gary Hong (CLIA President-1987), owner/operator
of the GuestHouse Inn and Suites in Santa Clara, for his many years of
dedication, service and loyalty to the California lodging industry.
Public Official of the Year: Ms. Caroline Beteta, Executive
Director, California Travel and Tourism Commission (CTTC), in recognition
of her vision and dynamic leadership in promoting tourism and trade for
the State of California.
CLIA - Anita L. Kramer Scholarship: Mr. Karan Kapoor, student,
enrolled in the Collins School of Hospitality Management at California
State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California, in recognition of his
scholarship and his commitment to become a part of the lodging industry. |
