Stephen Cavallaro Named EVP, COO for Station Casinos, Inc., 
Formerly President of Travelscape.com


 
LAS VEGAS, June 19, 2001 - Station Casinos, Inc. (NYSE: STN) today announced that Stephen L. Cavallaro has been named its new executive vice president and chief operating officer replacing Blake L. Sartini, who recently purchased Southwest Gaming Services from the Company.

Cavallaro, who has worked in the gaming industry for almost 21 years, began his career at Harrah's Marina Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Cavallaro rose through the Harrah's Entertainment organization, ultimately becoming assistant general manager of Harrah's Las Vegas.

In August 1990, he joined the Maloof family to oversee the development of the Fiesta Casino Hotel. In June 1992, he took over the operations of Palace Station Hotel & Casino as vice president and general manager. He left Palace Station in February 1994 to oversee the operations of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. He served as senior vice president and general manager of the Hard Rock for two years and was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of Harvey's Casino Resorts. Cavallaro served in that role until September 1999, when he became the president and chief executive officer of Travelscape.com, an internet travel company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, that was subsequently sold in September 2000 to Expedia, Inc., an affiliate of Microsoft Corporation. Recently, Cavallaro formed his own company and has been providing consulting services to Station Casinos, Inc., Ameristar Resorts and a number of other gaming companies.

Frank J. Fertitta III, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Station Casinos, stated: "We're happy to welcome Steve back to the Company on a full time basis.
