Gives Multi-Unit Management Firms Edge Over Competitors Still
"Tethered To A Network"

ORLANDO, FL (HITEC - June 26, 2001) - Aptech Computer Systems, Inc. today announced MyExecuvue®, a powerful Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) module for Execuvue®, the company's widely installed enterprise business intelligence application. The move reinforces Aptech's ability to evolve technology offerings as the market dictates, a commitment that has earned the company 100% customer loyalty of its 700 users over the last three decades.

As a business intelligence tool, Aptech's Execuvue collapses the time and cost of rapid decision making by operational managers.  The application quickly attaches to, and on demand, organizes any desired combination of operational, accounting, quality control, and industry data, such a Smith Travel, with drag and drop Windows simplicity.  Management companies averaging five or more properties in their portfolios benefit by being able to uncover trends and "hotspots," such as RevPAR, early occupancy, and energy costs, necessary to stay ahead in the industry; customize owner packets, an ability generally reserved for groups with hundreds of properties; and create 'What if?' analyses with a drill down capability through report views.

MyExecuvue Supplies Key Performance Indicators Remotely

MyExecuvue, which accesses Execuvue on a corporate server, delivers Key Performance Indicators (KPI), such as labor hours per occupied room or variances in comparative information, to a remote end-user anywhere, as often as he or she wants to see it, and in a format designed by the user.

"The potential of a wireless workforce is truly remarkable," said Jay Troutman, president of Aptech.  "It enables hotel companies to outperform competitors who are still tethered to a network.  Management firms are going to discover that the real bottom line virtues of mobile commerce will come from their own employees."  Troutman urged that, although the available communications bandwidth for wireless is still skimpy and U.S. regulatory officials are not moving quickly to address the bottleneck, CFO hoteliers should already be devising policies for how wireless handheld units will be used.  "By being able to access critical financial data, real time, you're taking a common wireless device that managers are going to have with them anyway and making it positively impact the bottom line."

Information Displayed at Decision Speed

Designed to communicate with PDAs, Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) phones, pagers, and Internet email, MyExecuvue can be easily programmed by the user with conditional parameters in a graphical format.

"What you see depends on the PDA device," explained Jill Wilder, Aptech's Senior Director. "Green, red, and yellow symbols for color units, and happy face, sad or straight faces for black and white devices are used to signal above, below, or on par comparisons with parameters set up when MyExecuvue was installed on the server."  Wilder noted that, although managers can also read real information from Execuvue, not just symbols, the  lack of processing power and storage capacity in current PDAs and cell phones could be limiting.

Wilder further explained that, "Depending on how I program the system, if I'm a manager on the road responsible for 12 properties, when one of my properties goes below 75% occupancy, MyExecuvue lets me know.  Or if comparative set data has been added from Smith Travel and that property falls 3% below comp set, the application lets me know."

Based on the Cognos KPI Business Pack and available early fourth quarter 2001,  MyExecuvue will be sold as an add-on package to the Enterprise version of Execuvue.  Pricing for both Execuvue and MyExecuvue are based on the number of named user seats.
