Hilton Grand Vacations Company Moves Ahead
with Two Major Ground-Breakings in
Las Vegas and Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. - June 19, 2001--Hilton Grand Vacations Company (HGVC), Hilton Hotel Corporations's high-quality vacation ownership resorts brand, today continued to strengthen its development efforts for the remainder of 2001.

The company has now launched the development of the first phases of two major resort properties:

  • the 1,500-unit Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Las Vegas Strip and
  • the 384-unit Hilton Grand Vacations Club on International Drive in Orlando.
"With a well-established brand like Hilton making a major long-term commitment to the vacation ownership industry, we see the opportunity to significantly expand market confidence and sales,'' said Antoine Dagot, HGVC president and chief executive officer. "Hilton brings with it a solid reputation for integrity and dependability and for providing reasonably priced vacation options.  Hilton Grand Vacations Company is poised to take a commanding leadership role with these and other innovative projects currently in preliminary planning,'' added Dagot.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Las Vegas Strip

Hilton Hotels Corporation president and chief executive officer Stephen Bollenbach attended the official ground-breaking ceremony on June 14, sharing his support for the new project and the development philosophy for the vacation ownership brand. During the ceremony, Dagot noted, ``With the completion of the 1,500-unit Las Vegas property, Hilton Grand Vacations Company will
have developed the majority of vacation ownership units in Las Vegas. This will allow us to benefit from synergies and economies of scale that will have an immediate positive effect on our purchasing, sales and marketing.''

Located on a 10-acre site on Las Vegas Boulevard at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, the property's first phase of construction is slated for completion in early 2003. Pre-opening vacation ownership sales are projected to begin in early 2002. The project is HGVC's third property in Las Vegas, bringing to 1,955 the brand's total number of units to be developed in the market.

"Las Vegas, one of the world's major entertainment destinations, continues to demonstrate a keen appetite for vacation ownership units,'' said Dagot. ``We have a long history in this market and are very upbeat about its long-term potential.''

Hilton Grand Vacations Club on International Drive

On June 19, the company hosted the official ground-breaking ceremony at the site of the new 384-unit resort in Orlando. ``The Hilton Grand vacations Club on International Drive will be our second property in Orlando, for a total of more than 850 units in the area,'' noted Dagot. ``The Orlando market continues to enjoy high demand with its ongoing expansion of family-themed parks and
activities.''

Situated on 34 acres at the southwest intersection of International Drive and Vineland Avenue, the new HGVClub resort is within minutes of Walt Disney World(TM) and adjacent to the Orlando Premium Outlets. The property will incorporate a Mediterranean theme, with a grand porte-cochere leading to a piazza that provides central access to the Clubhouse, Membership Preview Center and resort facilities.

Both properties will feature a complete array of resort amenities, including a fitness center, sports court and elaborate water-related design elements, ranging from fountains and swimming pools to whirlpool spas and an interactive children's pool. The resorts will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom accommodations, with fully equipped kitchens, washers and dryers, spacious living and dining areas and private master suites.

"With the strength and integrity of the Hilton name behind us, we continue to enhance our reputation as a leader in the vacation ownership industry,'' stated Dagot. ``With the completion of these two properties, we will significantly strengthen our leadership presence. We remain dedicated to our goal of providing a high-quality product that enjoys strong consumer confidence and
acceptance.''
