The 2001 California Conference on Tourism Awards
the Best Electronic Promotion to The
Best Westerns of California

Mon, 4 Jun 2001 - The Best Westerns of California were recognized recently at the 2001 California Conference on Tourism in Newport Beach, for having the Best Electronic Promotion for their Web site www.bestwesterncalifornia.com.  The site faced stiff competition for the award edging out such quality organizations as Disneyland of California and the Yosemite Destination Group for the top honors.

The recently enhanced site is also beneficial to consumers who want to know what to expect from their hotel and destination.  One of the site's best features is the 360 degree panoramic zoom offering true-to-life panoramic photographs of guest rooms, hotel facilities and local attractions throughout the state.  In addition to seeing the product and locations, guests can now choose from a variety of pre-planned travel tours highlighting local points of interest and the Best Westerns along the way.

"We want our guests to know as much about our brand as the locations they intend to visit when in California and this Web site is a testament to that commitment," said Dean Ruffing, vice chairman of the California, Hawaii and Nevada co-op of hotels who built and manage the site.  "By providing a Web site with information on more than 300 Best Westerns across California, we are prepared to meet the needs of a variety of travelers."

The customer friendly Web site was designed by Pacific Leisure Marketing, a Web design and marketing company based in Pismo Beach, Calif.  For more information on PLM, visit their Web site at www.pacificleisure.com.

By simply accessing the site, www.bestwesterncalifornia.com, travelers can instantly access information about Best Western accommodations, local destinations and travel routes throughout California.  With a simple click of a mouse, travelers receive up-to-date information on local attractions, weather and a calendar of events that reaches all the way from the Golden Gates of San Francisco to the piers of San Diego.

Best Western International is the world's largest hotel chain with more than 4,000 hotels in 80 countries and territories.  It is a membership association of independently owned and operated hotels that provides marketing, reservations and operational support to its members.
