DALLAS - March 19, 2001-- Women business travelers, the fastest growing segment of the business travel market, have a lot to be grateful for in March especially if theyre jet-setting around the globe. In honor of Womens History Month, Wyndham International, Inc. has compiled a Top Ten list of travel tips from its WOMEN ON THEIR WAY® Awards finalists to benefit business travelers across the country.

Tips include everything from how to stay energized on an international flight, to what to do when plans change unexpectedly. The finalists Top Ten tips are designed to provide convenient solutions to make business travel easier.

Wyndhams award finalists are not only accomplished career women who are altering the history of women in business, but also women who have traveled the world. They know the ropes of living out of a suitcase, said Cary J. Broussard, vice president of marketing for WOMEN ON THEIR WAY. As business travel experts, they can provide valuable advice for those who strive to work efficiently, while having a pleasant travel experience.

The five finalists of Wyndhams WOMEN ON THEIR WAY Awards program, which was created to recognize the professional and personal achievements of American women, were selected from more than 600 nominees across the nation. Their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to their industry and community serve as a reminder of the type of accomplishments recognized during Womens History Month.

Top Ten

1.  Pack light! Limit yourself to one purse, one duffle bag and one carry-on. You will probably come home with more than you brought, so never stuff your bags.
2.  Research the area where you are traveling in case you have free time. Every city has must-see attractions, and if you plan ahead, you can maximize your sightseeing time.
3.  When you travel with something that reminds you of home, like your pillowcase or a picture of a loved one, your hotel room becomes more like home.
4.  If youre stranded at the airport, you can join most airline clubs for around $50.
5.  Pack a small plastic spray bottle filled with a mixture of water and rosewater to perk up and moisturize your face and hands during a long flight.

6.  As soon as the planes engines start rolling, use earplugs to block out noise. This helps increase concentration when reading, and allows you to arrive at your destination more relaxed.

7.  To keep medicine cool, bring disposable instant cold packs, which are available in the first-aid section of pharmacies.
8.  Dont be afraid to ask for items in your hotel room that will make your stay more comfortable. Some hotels even invite you to make personal requests.
9.  If your flight is cancelled, the best way to get on the next available flight is to multi-task. Use your cell phone to call the airlines and book a reservation, while getting in line immediately to speed the process along.
10.  Wear comfortable but professional clothes and shoes. You never know whom you will want to impress. If youre short on time, use the hotels dry-cleaning service to press clothing.
