LAS VEGAS, March 21, 2001 - Phil Satre, Chairman

on the vote in the Louisiana Legislature, which approved key elements in
a reorganization plan for

yesterday by the Louisiana Legislature in making the right business decision
to lower the financially untenable state payment for the Harrahs New Orleans
casino, Satre said.
I want to personally thank Governor Mike Foster, Senator Ken Hollis, Speaker Charles DeWitt and Representative Ed Murray for taking a strong pro-business stand during this special session and working to find consensus and commonality among the legislators, Satre said. I also want to thank Mayor Morial of New Orleans
and the City Council for their ongoing support of our efforts to make the
New Orleans casino an economic success for the region. And we want to recognize
all of the business and labor leaders of the city and state who came together
