for City-owned Land in the Silicon Valley |
Mountain View, California - On March 16, 2001,
the City of Mountain View, California will formally invite hotel developers
to respond to a request for qualifications (RFQ) to lease and develop up
to 14.4 acres of City-owned land in the heart of Silicon Valley. The City
of Mountain Views objective in leasing the site is to become the home
of a full-service, four-star hotel. Based upon the qualifications
submitted by respondents to the RFQ, the City will invite a handful of
development teams to submit detailed proposals. A pre-submittal conference
will be held at City Hall on April 4, 2001.
Over the last decade, Mountain View has become a magnet for leading
technology companies, which regularly book conference space and hotel rooms
for meetings and trainings. Many high profile companies have their
headquarters in Mountain View, such as Intuit, Verisign, Veritas, Alza
and SGI. Recently joining the ranks of prominent companies with a Mountain
View presence is Microsoft Corporation, which chose the City as its Silicon
Valley headquarters.
The development site, known as Charleston East, is located at the northwest corner of Charleston Road and North Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View. More information is available by visiting the Citys Internet location. |
