John Lee and Dianna Vaughan Appointed to 
Vice President Positions at Embassy Suites

 
MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 15, 2001 � Embassy Suites Hotels® has announced two promotions within the brand management team, according to Mark Snyder, senior vice president - brand management for Embassy Suites Hotels. 

John Lee, Vice President - Marketing

John Lee has been named vice president � marketing for Embassy Suites Hotels, the national brand of upscale, all-suite hotels.  Lee most recently served as senior director � marketing for the brand, a position he held since 1998. 

Lee began his career with the Embassy Suites Hotels brand in 1988 as director of sales for the Embassy Suites Hotel San Luis Obispo, in California.  His career progressed with positions of increased responsibility in the sales and marketing arena at the La Jolla, San Rafael, and San Diego Downtown Embassy Suites Hotels.  In 1995, he moved to Memphis and joined the hotel performance support team as a regional director of hotel performance support, providing support for more than 40 franchised and company-managed properties at the time.  After a brief sojourn as the vice president of sales and marketing for RFS Hotels, a management company based in Memphis, Lee returned to the Embassy Suites Hotels brand in 1998 as senior director of brand marketing.

Lee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the California Polytechnic State University, in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Dianna Vaughan, Vice President  - Field Sales & Marketing

Dianna Vaughan has been named vice president � field sales and marketing for Embassy Suites Hotels.   Most recently, Vaughan served as senior director - field marketing and sales support for the brand, a position she held since 1999. 

In her new position, Vaughan will oversee a department that provides multi-faceted services including sales, marketing, brand standards and revenue management to more than 150 hotels.  Field sales and marketing directors as well as the revenue management team will continue to report to Vaughan.

A native of Texas, Vaughan brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to her new position.  She started her management career with Hilton as a hotel controller.   In 1992, she was named director of sales and marketing for the Embassy Suites Downtown Austin, in Texas, before being named general manager.  She moved to Memphis in 1995 to join the hotel performance support team and has worked as a regional director of sales and marketing for both the Embassy Suites and Doubletree brands.
