Adds Three New Board of Directors |
March 9, 2001 - The International Resort Managers
Association (IRMA) has added three members to its board of directors, Anita
L. Bauer, executive vice president announced.
The directors are Tina Berger, general manager of The Sanderling, Duck, NC; David Lautensack, general manager, Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort, Solvang, CA; and Thomas Vincent IV, president of Observations Unlimited, LaMesa, CA. Tina Berger, CHA, general manager of The Sanderling, has more
than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Berger has been
general manager of the resort since 1993. Since its opening, The Sanderling
has grown to 94 rooms and suites on 13 acres of oceanfront property, a
conference center, spa, fitness facility and eco-center .By late summer
2001, The Sanderling will have three dining facilities, including a dining
restaurant. The resort has frequently appeared in published lists of top
resorts worldwide.
Thomas Vincent IV is president of Observations Unlimited, a resort consulting and investment firm located in LaMesa, CA. Vincent is vice chairman of the American Hotel & Motel Association Resort Committee. He was the 2000 recipient of AHMA's Lawson Odde Award, presented annual to an AHMA board member for outstanding contributions to the lodging industry and to AHMA's industry and governmental relationships. During a three-decade career, Vincent managed the Paradise Point resort for 15 years and most recently served as regional vice president for Noble House. He is currently developing a new Montana resort. IRMA's other directors are Terri Haack, vice president and director of Kingsmill Resort; Craig Madison, vice president and general manager of the Grove Park Inn; Charlie Peck, president and COO, Destination Hotels and Resorts; Peter Rainsford, professor and director of the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management in the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver; and Thomas J. Finan IV, publisher of Resort Management magazine. "Our new directors add to the association's breadth of resort industry experience. They will play a key role in bringing resort-specific education to the industry," Bauer said. Bauer noted that the directors would meet on April 8 in Vail, CO, just prior to the opening of the Resort Management Conference. IRMA is hosting the conference at the Vail Cascade Resort April 8-10 along with Resort Management Magazine and the University of Denver. IRMA was formed in the fall of 2000 to provide networking and educational resource; certification, testing, and distance learning; job placement services; and other tools that are needed by resort managers worldwide. |
