NEWPORT BEACH, California - March 7, 2001 - The American Hotel Foundation
(AHF) and the American Hotel & Motel Association (AH&MA) have launched
the New Century Fund campaign with the objective of raising a minimum of
eight million dollars over the next five years to meet the needs of the
hospitality industry workforce. The campaign represents a continued
commitment to the growth and vitality of the industry.
Jim Burba, vice president and worldwide director of advisory services at Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG), will head up the campaign�s efforts to secure funds from hospitality industry consultants. �It is an honor for me to serve on the campaign committee,� states Burba. �The American Hotel Foundation serves the lodging industry by providing resources for needed and valued educational and research projects.� Since its founding in 1953, the American Hotel Foundation (AHF) has
been providing financial support for educational opportunities for students
and industry-related research programs. The Foundation is a subsidiary
of the American Hotel & Motel Association and serves as its fund-raising
arm.
