DALLAS (Jan. 4, 2000) - Wyndham International, Inc. (NYSE:WYN) named
David
Garon area director of operations for Wyndham�s four properties in
northern California and Seattle. In addition, Garon will continue
his duties as general manager of the Wyndham-owned, 188-room Pickwick Hotel
in San Francisco. Wyndham also announced the appointment of
Jim
Hollister as general manager of the prestigious 200-room Wyndham Bel
Age in West Hollywood, Calif.
In his new role, Garon is responsible for the overall hotel operations of four properties, with specific focus on employee training, brand program and product consistency and achieving revenue and profit goals. He reports directly to Jeff Wagoner, senior vice president of Hotel/Garden Hotel operations. Garon, a certified hotel administrator (CHA) and graduate of UCLA, started working for Wyndham over ten years ago, beginning as general manager of the Wyndham Garden Hotel in North San Diego. He then moved to Campbell, Calif., to become the general manager of the Wyndham-managed Pruneyard Inn. Garon has also held top management positions at the Wyndham Sunnyvale, Calif., and the former Wyndham Garden Hotel in Marin County, Calif. Prior to Wyndham, Garon spent two years with Ramada. In addition to the Pickwick Hotel, the three additional properties under Garon�s direction include the 180-room Wyndham Sunnyvale, Calif.; 172-room Pruneyard Inn in Campbell, Calif.; and the 204-room Wyndham Seattle-Tacoma Airport. As the general manager of the Wyndham Bel Age, Jim Hollister is responsible for all day-to-day hotel operations, with specific focus on repositioning the hotel following its $6 million renovation. For more than ten years Hollister has held top management positions at Wyndham properties throughout the United States. In 1990, while at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Charlotte, NC, he won the Wyndham General Manager of the Year award. He then went on to run operations at the Wyndham Commerce, Calif., where his hotel won the Wyndham Hotel of the Year award. Hollister was promoted to regional director of operations in 1992, overseeing Wyndham Garden Hotel properties located in the West and Southeast. In 1996, Hollister moved to Texas to become the director of rooms at the Wyndham Anatole, the largest convention hotel in the Southwest. Since 1997, Hollister has served as general manager of the Wyndham San Diego at Emerald Plaza, where he was named Wyndham General Manager of the Year. The Wyndham San Diego was recently named one of the �Best Companies to Work For� in San Diego by the Ken Blanchard Company in conjunction with the San Diego Business Journal. Prior to Wyndham, Hollister worked for Hyatt and Sheraton. Wyndham International, Inc.
