Gerard Dumont Named Vice President at Benchmark; 
Retains Title as GM of Lansdowne Resort

 
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS, January 30, 2001�Benchmark Hospitality has announced the promotion of Gerard (Jerry) Dumont to vice president.  He will also retain his title as general manager of Lansdowne Resort, a 305-guestroom property located in Leesburg, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC.  Lansdowne Resort is Benchmark�s East Coast flagship property.  Sam Haigh, chief operating officer for Benchmark, made the announcement.

�In each position of increasing responsibility within the Benchmark organization,� stated Mr. Haigh, �Jerry Dumont has demonstrated a high level of success in customer satisfaction, property revenue, occupancy, profitability, and strength of management team.  We are extremely pleased to announce his appointment as vice president.�  

Jerry Dumont began his hospitality career with Dunfey and Omni Hotels in a variety of operational and financial positions.  Following this, he was appointed controller for the Helmsley Palace Hotel in New York City and served as regional controller for the Beacon Hospitality Group in Boston.

In 1987, Mr. Dumont joined the Benchmark organization as controller at Forsgate Country Club, then managed by Benchmark and located in Monroe Township, New Jersey.  In 1998, he assumed transition responsibilities as interim general manager for Benchmark�s Founders Inn, a 250-guestroom hotel and conference center located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  He was promoted to his first position as general manager in 1994, assuming these responsibilities for The Park Ridge Hotel & Conference Center located in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and at the time managed by Benchmark Hospitality.  Subsequent to this, he became general manager of The Forrestal Hotel and Conference Center, a 291-guestroom property located in Princeton, New Jersey, and successfully managed the property�s repositioning for Benchmark.  Mr. Dumont became general manager of Benchmark�s award-winning flagship, Lansdowne Resort, in 1999.
