Seattles Pacific Plaza Hotel |
SEATTLE - Feb. 15, 2001 -- Seattles Pacific Plaza Hotel made two major
announcements today.
First, Pacific Plaza Associates will invest over $3 million in Phase One of a major renovation project. General Manager, Dan Spurgeon, said, While our guests come from two different segments, business and leisure, they share the desire to get away from the chrome and glass look of the large chain hotels and enjoy instead a unique, boutique experience which combines state-of-the-art amenities like data ports and voice mail with the luxuries and comforts of home. Second, the property has been renamed the Executive Pacific Plaza Hotel as part of its repositioning to take advantage of a marketing affiliation with Executive Hotels and Resorts in Vancouver, British Columbia. Phase One of the renovation is focused on improving the guest experience, especially the guest rooms. The renovation will include new case goods and soft goods, styled in a cosmopolitan, Euro-Pacific elegance by Bristal Design, the well-known designers responsible for such recent projects as the Salish Lodge Spa, the St. Michelle Winery reception area, and the Mayflower Hotel guest rooms. At the Executive Pacific Plaza, the guest bathrooms will be completely modernized, including new lighting, mirrors, and solid surface Corian countertops. The addition of small meeting rooms on the second floor of the Hotel will be an ideal amenity for business guests. Another renovation scheduled for Phase One is elegant new furniture for the lobby. Some of the back of the house issues being addressed to insure the ultimate in guest comfort and convenience are new plumbing, water supply, and hot water heating. Phase One activity is scheduled to be completed by March 31, 2001. During the renovation, the Executive Pacific Plaza Hotel will continue to offer guests all of the usual amenities provided by the Hotel, including an extended complimentary breakfast, fresh Washington apples, in-room coffee makers, irons and boards, cable television with premium channels and Pay-Per-View movies, and a special guest amenity package. A concierge is available to provide additional guest services such as concert and theater tickets, and restaurant recommendations. The new affiliation with Executive Hotels and Resorts will provide several benefits. In addition to joining seventeen unique properties in Washington, British Columbia, Calgary, and Alberta, the repositioning will provide increased brand recognition for the hotel within the Canadian market; a frequent traveler rewards program particularly attractive to business travelers; and a lead referral program through the group sales effort. The Executive Pacific Plaza Hotel, built in 1928, is a 160 room, historic, boutique hotel located in the heart of Seattles Financial District, and within walking distance of premier shopping, theater, museums, and the Waterfront. Its location at 400 Spring Street provides easy access to both the Seattle Aquarium and the Pike Place Market. |
