Grand Forks HeraldMcClatchy-Tribune Regional News May 11--New hotel planned in Grand Forks Another hotel is planned for 42nd Street, a part of Grand Forks with several recent hotel openings. City planning officials received plans for a My Place hotel at 1315 S. 42nd St., across from the Alerus Center. The three-story building will occupy a 1.3-acre lot and have 64 guest rooms. It will be next to the recently opened Staybridge Suites hotel. My Place Hotels' corporate website describes the chain as offering low-priced lodging for short- and long-term stays. The company has its origins in South Dakota, and opened its first location in Dickinson, N.D., in February 2012 and subsequent locations in Bismarck and Minot and Cheyenne, Wyo., and Bozeman, Mont. Hugo's employee recognized Rick Hogan, produce manager with Hugo's Family Marketplace in Grand Forks, is one of 25 people in the country to be recognized by the 2013 Retail Produce Manager Awards program, given by United Fresh Produce Association. He will get his award at United Fresh's annual meeting in San Diego next week. According to a press release, Hogan has worked for Hugo's for 39 years and has been involved in educational and volunteer work for Hugo's and the community, including department tours and educational programs in schools.
