| By Tim Zyla, The Daily Review, Towanda, Pa.McClatchy-Tribune Regional News June 06--The Comfort Inn & Suites in Sayre hosted its grand opening Wednesday evening after almost two months of successful operation. The opening presented the public with a large offering of food from eight different local restaurants, free drinks and complimentary tours of the hotel's different types of rooms. Musician Virgil Cain of Owego played a large selection of rock music during the entire event, which lasted from 5:30 to 9 p.m., as hundreds of businesspeople and locals stopped in to see the hotel. Co-owner Art Sherwood said he is extremely pleased with the hotel operation so far, as this is Sherwood's second Comfort Inn & Suites he owns, the other being based out of Tunkhannock. Sherwood co-owns the hotel along with his brother Don Sherwood through the company name Bradford Hospitality, LLC. Art Sherwood's wife, Jennifer, who played a part in designing the hotel said she plans to see the same success at the Sayre location that has been enjoyed in Tunkhannock, which is a Platnium award winning hotel, a title given only to the top three percent of hotels in the country. Sayre location General Manager Gina Genoble, who worked for about a year and a half at the Tunkhannock operation, has been instrumental in the success of the new hotel, Art Sherwood said. The Sayre Comfort Inn & Suites is a three story building offering 85 rooms and numerous top of the line amenities including an indoor swimming pool, two conference rooms, an exercise room, and notably spacious standard room sizes. Original Italian Grille, Beeman's Family Restaurant, Yanuzzi's Restaurant, Railhouse Restaurant and Taproom, Alliger's House of Wings, Mangialardo's Restaurant, Callear's R & R Bar-B-Que, and Rosa's Pizzeria all provided guests with an all-you-can-eat buffet of samples from the restaurants. The new hotel is located across from Lowe's Home Improvement on Elmira Street in Sayre.
