BRIEF: Robert Earl Holding, Sun Valley Resort owner, dies (The Idaho Statesman)

April 21--Sun Valley Resort owner Robert Earl Holding died Friday at the age of 86, according to a press release.

Holding, who built his empire through Sinclair Oil Corp. and Little America hotels, bought Sun Valley Resort in 1977.

He is the only Idahoan to make the current Forbes 400 list, which ranks him as the 170th richest person in America with a net worth of $2.6 billion.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, and three children.
